Sunnybrae is a recently re-opened half acre site situated just outside the pretty village of Findochty, commanding spectacular panoramic views over the Moray Firth – and beyond on a good day! The site itself has 5 pitches (4 of which are hardstanding) all with new 16amp electric hookups. Drinking water tap and chemical waste disposal with rinsing tap are also provided for visitors. Recyling bins are also provided.
The site itself has a very gentle slope but the pitches are all reasonably flat.
We are open all year and our current charge is £18 per night.
Findochty is a small picturesque village with a scenic harbour mainly used for pleasure craft. It has a well stocked general store (0.5mile) and a pub “The Admirals” (0.75mile) which also provides takeaway meals as well as highly recommended lunchtime and evening meals.
The Moray coast has much to offer for a wide range of interests. Wildlife is particularly abundant with pine martens, kestrels, pheasants, roe deer and many other interesting animals and birds having been spotted from the CL site.
Bottlenose dolphins are a major attraction on the Moray Firth and dolphin spotting expeditions on the “Gemini Explorer” can be taken from nearby Buckie (2miles). For those a little less adventurous a good pair of binoculars is all that is required to catch sight of them from the comfort of your caravan. Other attractions include Strathlene Golf Club (1.25miles), Findochty Beach (1mile), stunning coastal walks and drives are popular in all weathers.
Many distilleries are based in the surrounding area and the world famous “Malt Whisky Trail” is always worth exploring. The Highland Games (Fochabers 9miles) in late Spring is also a great experience and for those with an interest in the past, the area has plenty of historic castles and grand houses to seek out. For the younger visitor there is a range of activities to entertain. Go kart racing, ten pin bowling and pony trekking to name but a few.
Stargazing on a clear night is a sight to behold and The Northern Lights can sometimes make a rare incredible display.
Visitors to Sunnybrae will be guaranteed a warm welcome on arrival and we will endeavour to be of assistance throughout your stay if and when required.
Mike looks forward to seeing you
